MBF Foundation
From our inception five years ago, the MBF Foundation has built a substantial portfolio of initiatives, both past and present, with a combined total investment of over $9 million. During this period, we have partnered with some of Australia's leading research institutes to produce groundbreaking health insights that contribute towards the Foundation's goal of helping build a healthier Australian community. Pleasingly, the Foundation's profile and reputation for funding pioneering research has also continued to grow in stature.
To date the MBF Foundation has provided grants to projects that support the advancement of health care such as a national program to reduce readmissions for people with bipolar disorder, the use of retinal imaging in the early detection of cardiac disease and evaluation of a disease management program for Coronary Artery Disease. Many of the Foundation's projects may have potential to have posititve impact on the industry, on business locally and potentially internationally. Industry sustainability is one of the key platforms of the Foundation's research and project efforts.

The Institute of Health and Biomedical Innovation
The Institute of Health and Biomedical Innovation (IHBI) located at Queensland University of Technology is devoted to improving human health through research innovation. We work to promote wellness, reduce the impact of major diseases (including depression, addiction, cancer and diabetes) and improve health care effectiveness.
IHBI researchers develop creative solutions to pressing health challenges in the areas of prevention, mind and bod health, and recovery. We create partnerships between health care workers and scientists - thus brining new treatments to patients and quickly as possible.
We also train students from Australia and overseas in this new, collaborative style of research.
The Walter and Eliza Hall Institute of Medical Research
The Walter and Eliza Hall Institute in Melbourne, Victoria is home to more than 550 scientists who are working to find causes, methods of prevention and treatments for cancers - including leukaemias, lymphomas, breast cancer, melanoma and colon cancer - autoimmune diseases such as type 1 diabetes, rheumatoid arthritis and coeliac disease and infectious diseases such as HIV, hepatitis and malaria.
Across fields as diverse as chemistry, genetics and mathematics we are committed to making fundamental discoveries about the way cells, particularly cancer and blood cells, behave and communicate and seeing these translated into benefits for patients. The institute - Australia's first medical research institute - remains true to its founding vision of being the birthplace of discoveries that prevent and remove disease and mitigate suffering. www.wehi.edu.au
