One of Research Australia Philanthropy's objectives is to support philanthropic giving for research.

Some trusts, foundations and companies are discouraged by the complex nature of health and medical research, and the difficulty in assessing applications.

Trusts and foundations, private donors and companies adopt varying processes in their decision making about what they wish to support.  Many may wish to support health and medical research but lack the capacity or confidence in selecting appropriate projects or individuals to support.

Resources and programs have been developed by Research Australia Philanthropy to help grantmakers select applications that are scientifically sound and meet the aims and objectives of the donor.
